AirAsia Philippines issues guidelines for passengers bringing gifts and souvenirs during the holiday season.
AirAsia Philippines reminds its guests to familiarize themselves with essential baggage guidelines as the holiday season approaches. The airline aims to ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers bringing home gifts and souvenirs.
"At AirAsia, we know how important it is for our kababayans to bring back those special gifts and memories as well as the concern that comes with baggage limits. That’s why we offer flexible baggage options so our guests can pack as many pasalubongs as they want, without any restrictions, as long as they adhere to guidelines," said Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head.
Passengers are advised to check the airline's policy on specific items. Durian, jackfruit and other pungent-smelling fruits are not allowed in baggage. Fresh or frozen seafood and meats must be properly packed following the airline's standards and are subject to inspection. Only styrofoam and/or cooler boxes containing dry food/non-perishables are allowed to be checked-in.
Liquid, aerosol and gel items must be in containers of up to 100ml and fit into a transparent or resealable 1-liter plastic bag, which should be presented separately at security. Electronics, gadgets, valuable and fragile goods should not be checked-in as baggage. Instead, passengers are advised to carry these items personally.
The airline also reminds passengers that spare lithium batteries must be carried in cabin baggage and cannot exceed 100Wh. Portable electronic devices containing lithium metal or lithium-ion cells or batteries are allowed in checked baggage, except for e-cigarettes and self-balancing battery-powered small vehicles. Wheelchairs with batteries can be checked-in if prepared according to guidelines.
Musical instruments exceeding cabin baggage dimensions may be carried in the cabin if a separate seat is purchased. No baggage allowance is associated with this seat.
Passengers are allowed two pieces of unchecked baggage, including a cabin bag, laptop bag, handbag or small bag, with a total weight of up to 7kg. Checked baggage allowance is up to 60kg, with each bag not exceeding 32kg.
